In our country India, Ayurvedic medicines are regulated through the Drugs and Cosmetics Act under the Act and Rules issued by the Department of AYUSH. Which strictly follows the regulation of manufacturing, import, distribution and sale of Ayurvedic medicines keeping this Act in mind.

So friends, if we try to understand the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules, then the guidelines related to the manufacture and sale of Ayurvedic (including Siddha) and Unani medicines have been issued in such a way, in which it is mandatory to follow Rule 154 and Rule 157 of 1945. Apart from this, Rule 158(B) of the guidelines issued for issuing licenses for Ayurvedic, Siddha or Unani medicines orders the issuance of licenses under Section 3(A) and 3(H)(ii) of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940. And the right to implement these legal provisions lies with the legal licensing authority in the state.
